Your Rights (POPIA)

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), you have specific rights regarding your personal information. KryVervoer is committed to upholding these rights.

1. Right to Access

You have the right to request a copy of all personal information KryVervoer holds about you. This includes your profile data, location, messages, and any reports or tickets you have submitted.

How to exercise this right:

  1. Email kryvervoer@gmail.com with the subject line: 'Data Access Request'
  2. Include your full name and the email address linked to your account
  3. We will respond within 30 days with a copy of your data

2. Right to Correction

You have the right to correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information we hold about you.

How to exercise this right:

  1. Update your name and phone number directly in your Profile page
  2. Update your location via Edit Location in your Profile
  3. For anything else, email kryvervoer@gmail.com

3. Right to Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your personal information. Upon deletion, we will remove:

  • Your profile (name, email, phone, profile picture)
  • Your location data
  • Your driver profile if applicable
  • Your chat messages
  • Any tickets or reports you submitted
⚠️ Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. You will lose access to all data and conversations.

How to exercise this right:

  1. Email kryvervoer@gmail.com with the subject: 'Delete My Account'
  2. Include your full name and account email
  3. We will action the request within 30 days and confirm by email

4. Right to Object

You have the right to object to KryVervoer processing your personal information in certain circumstances, for example if you believe we are processing it beyond the purpose you consented to.

How to exercise this right:

  1. Email kryvervoer@gmail.com with your objection
  2. Describe what processing you are objecting to
  3. We will review and respond within 30 days

5. Right to Withdraw Consent

Where we process your data based on your consent (such as location data), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will affect your ability to use KryVervoer's core features.

How to exercise this right:

  1. To withdraw location consent, request account deletion
  2. To stop receiving emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email
  3. Contact kryvervoer@gmail.com for any other consent withdrawal

6. Right to Complain

If you believe KryVervoer has violated your rights under POPIA, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
